Sep 14, 2010 - Oyster cards are typically stored in a generic wallet or holder and do not. With a minimal interface (tap screen to beep), the app couldn't be. Well obviously your brother's been a bit of a muppet hasn't he - when you touch in with a 16+ Oyster it beeps once but it also says 'Child' doesn't it? I made this for a french movie, around 80 short sound in the. 383 downloads. Arriving to a bus stop, stepping on board, validating Oyster card.

Manage your adult Oyster and contactless cards on the move with the app.
• Top up pay as you go credit
• Buy adult rate 7 Day, Monthly and Annual Travelcards, and Bus & Tram Passes
• View your Oyster card and contactless journey history
• Check contactless payments
• Check your pay as you go balance and see season tickets
• Check if you have any incomplete journeys
• Allow notifications when your pay as you go balance falls below a certain amount, or your Travelcard is about to expire
When you top up your credit or buy a Travelcard or Bus & Tram Pass, it will be available to collect after 30 minutes when you touch your Oyster card on a yellow card reader as part of a journey on any London bus, or at any Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail or National Rail station within the pay as you go area, tram stop or River Bus pier.
Keeping on top of your spend is easy; see the date, time and cost of your journeys from the last 8 weeks.
The TfL Oyster and contactless app will request access to your camera. This is so that you can scan your payment card. We will never store the scanned pictures. Alternatively you can enter the card details manually.
You can’t currently add Oyster photocards to this app.
You can’t currently buy discounted tickets through the app.
For security reasons the TfL Oyster and contactless app is not supported on jailbroken devices.

We’ve fixed some bugs to make the overall app experience smoother

No access at all for Voiceover users!

I will start by saying that TFL have an almost exemplar record in embracing accessibility, diversity and inclusion.. Everything from audio announcements on busses, trains and tubes to assistance for people who have disabilities at the point of need where possible and in most cases.. TFL have been leaders in the notion of “Turn up and go” whih has meant that we as people with disabilities can travel independently and with confidence. So I waited with bated breath as I downloaded the Oyster app from the app store, knowing that as soon as the app was downloaded, I’d be able to interact with it using the native screen reader on IOS, Voiceover.. Urm, no, oh dear! Absolutely no access at all. Nothing is spoken from the opening screen onwards so, no way of interacting with the app at all. The only upside to this is that at least its not part accessible which is worse but, this is not a compliment and not a position that tFL should find themselves in. Please can we have an accessible version of this app as soon as the next point release and can TFL reasure its many thousands of VIPs (Visually Impaired People) that accessibility and thereby, inclusion will be front and centre of all app development as part of the general build roadmap.. Thank you!

Why even bother with this

I was redirected to the app from the tfl webpage when I was trying to get an update on a bus route and when it would resume normal service. I downloaded the app and the clicked on journey planner only to be directed back to the website on my browser away from the app. This app can be so much more then looking at ones oyster account but they haven't even bothered. It's really bad when apps like this are launched without being well just MORE, considering for instance Citymapper offer. This is TFL, everyone is getting this information from them, you would think they of all organisations would have first hand access to a huge amount of travel data. For instance I would like to type in a bus route and find out if it's taking diversions and when normal service will be resumed. Notifications on if my underground and DLR routes is having issues, etc. In this days and age you can't have apps like this.

Only had the app for about 30 minutes but already can see there are things that ideally would be integrated.
I downloaded the app to check whether or not I had tapped in as I’d already forgotten if I had (goldfish memory) but for anything other than adding cards and viewing travel history I seem to be redirected away from the app and onto the website.
For both completing incomplete journeys and for deleting cards, you need to go into the website and log in there, this feels like something which should be integrated into the app - at the moment it’s almost more like a landing page.
Additionally, although once on the website there was a big notice letting me know I had an incomplete journey, on the app there was no such thing, so I would never have known if I hadn’t gone on the website (however to be fair, given how short a time I’ve had the app and the card in question on the account, this may be due to lag in syncing data).
Overall fine for just checking your cards and journeys, I haven’t encountered any bugs or glitches as yet but again, not having had it very long I can’t fully attest to that.
